                                                            REGISTRAR’S DESK

It is my disnct honour, as Registrar of the Uganda Medical and Dental Praconers
Council (UMDPC), to contribute this foreword to the 20th Edion of the Uganda Health-
                  care Directory.

For two decades, this Directory has stood as a vital reference point in Uganda’s health
sector. It has connected paents with providers, guided instuons, and offered a
dependable map of the ever-evolving healthcare landscape. Its longevity is a testament
to both the dedicaon of its publishers and the trust placed in it by the Ugandan public
                  and healthcare community.

At UMDPC, our mandate is to safeguard the highest standards of medical and dental
pracce. To beer serve praconers and streamline operaons, we are leveraging
digital transformaon through plaorms like the Health Professionals Portal, which
simplifies licensing, registraon, and interacons between praconers and regulatory
bodies. In doing so, we recognize the value of plaorms such as this Directory, which
work in tandem with our objecve to promote transparency, accessibility, and informed
choice. In an era where healthcare demands are growing and technology is reshaping
how services are delivered, the Directory’s adaptability, from print to digital formats,
                  shows remarkable foresight.

This 20th edion is more than a milestone; it is a call to acon. It reminds us that collabo-
raon between regulators, praconers, and informaon plaorms is central to advanc-
ing quality, accountability, and paent-centered care in Uganda.

I commend the editorial team for their commitment, and I congratulate all healthcare
providers, partners, and adversers who connue to make this publicaon a success.
May this edion inspire renewed dedicaon to the values of integrity, service, and inno-
vaon as we collecvely work towards a healthier Uganda.
